Island Drive is a locally owned car rental and car sales business based in Barbados. Whether you’re visiting the island and need a reliable set of wheels, or you live here and you’re looking for your next vehicle, we’ve got you covered.
We started back in 2017 with just a handful of rental cars and a simple idea: make car renting in Barbados easy, affordable, and actually enjoyable. No corporate red tape, no hidden fees—just friendly people helping you get on the road. Word spread, the fleet grew, and today we have over 60 vehicles available for rent at any given time.
In 2019 we expanded into car sales in Barbados, importing quality vehicles directly from Japan and the UK. That side of the business has grown just as quickly—we now have 80+ cars for sale on our lot. We’re a local, independent business, not part of any franchise or chain, so every decision we make is about doing right by our customers.
Most of our fleet is made up of Hybrid Vehicles from brands you know and trust—Nissan, Toyota, Suzuki, and Honda. Going Hybrid isn’t just good for the environment (though it definitely is). It’s good for your wallet too. Our customers typically save 40–50% on fuel compared to a traditional petrol car, which adds up fast when you’re driving around the island.
When you rent a car from us, we make the whole process as smooth as possible. We deliver anywhere on the island—Grantley Adams International Airport, your hotel, villa, Airbnb, or house. Just tell us where you’ll be and we’ll bring the car to you. Payment is flexible too: we accept cash, credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, and Zelle. We even carry portable card machines so you can pay right at the point of delivery. No need to come find us first.
