Powering the 2019 Toyota Aqua Hybrid is a 1.5-liter I-4 paired to an electric motor backed by a nickel-metal hydride battery and a CVT. Total system output is 99 hp. Fuel economy isn't that impressive for a hybrid at 48/43 mpg city/highway. Thanks to the hatchback body style, the Aqua Hybrid has 17.1 cubic feet of cargo space that can be expanded via the standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats.
